The Bodice was an everyday essential for the women of the Renaissance era. Its style was useful for classes from peasantry up through nobility. The Bodice can be made plainly, or for a fancier and wealthier look, can be adorned with wings on the shoulders and picadils (tabs) at the bottom hem. All of our plain Bodices are fully reversible and boned with metal. Optional trim is metallic silver or gold. Specialty trim is available upon request. Optional Tie-On sleeves are available. These straight sleeves tie on under the wings for an authentic look, and can be made with the upper seam open for a slashed look.

A modest lady always wore her Bloomers. Unfortunately, it wasn't always convenient to have one's waistband trapped under layers of clothing when nature called! These also work well to prevent chafing on hot days.
